Melting Slicks
I just got mine back from Joe's shop this weekend. I normally take mine to him a couple of times a year to give it a good check-up and make sure the engine is up to snuff.
This year, because we were allowed to remove the cats, I knew I needed to get the engine retuned, and the numbers (kept a secret) were very promising!!!
I've posted what the Phoenix guys do to the cars on several posts, but in short, there's just no substitute for a well set up Vette and Joe's guys are the best at it.
At a minimum, have them set the CORRECT RIDE HEIGHT, corner weight, align the car, and tune the engine (for whatever octane you wish you run). Spending just about $1000 got me 2 seconds per lap, and I'd bet it'll do the same for just about every Vette driver out there! Thanks again Joe!!
