Default Tracking a c5 with 17x11 inch rims all around?

I have a z06 & have put my Grand Sport rims on & run with no problem. Now thinking of 11x17 all around but here is the question.

Which are better the GS rears with 50mm offset or the ZR1 rears with a different offset (I don't know what it is, but it's not the same as GS)

Thanks.

I started using the 11 inch GS offset wheels last year. I get some pavement scrubbing on a couple of turns at Watkins that I didn't get when I ran the 9.5 inchers. One thing that happens is the instant removal of inside wheel weights upon tight turns (at lock). I was backing into the garage at the Glen and heard this loud bang. Once I was in the garage I got out of the car and found the inside wheel weight from the left side wheel laying on the pavement.

Do you think the 11x17 with zr1 offset are better?

I think the true ZR1 offset will stick out too far. The GS sticks out far enough...

Just don't go full lock.

I have run 17x11 GS offset (OEM) and knockoffs all around. I have not knocked a weight off - but with 315s in the front I scrub the front fenders in my FRC but clear the ZO6 ones just fine.....

That sounds good in the pits, but out on the track is another story. I added stops on the rack to prevent going to full lock.

Steve
Are you talking about autocross tracks of full race tracks?

If you go full lock on a full track, you have bigger problems than wheel weights.

That would be correct. I'm talking about when your losing control of the car.

Hi Steve,

You agree that the 17x11xZR1 offset is not going to work as well (all around) as the Grand Sport?

Thanks.

Hi Bob,

Never used Zr1 wheels. I have CCW 17x11 in the front. I had to add stops to the rack to prevent the lower A-Arms from getting chewed up.
