I am curious about the A/F ratio the cars operate with.
Is it the camera angles, climatic conditions, number of entrants,
closeness of the racing or just sub-10:1 A/F mixtures that lead to the
prominent plumes from these cars. They look more like diesels than
gas-powered racers.
A few events ago, the graphics on the left rear quarter panel of one
car gradually became obscured by exhaust by-products as the race
progressed.
It has been a long time since I've attended a race in person. On
screen, though, these cars appear to have more visible exhaust than
any other road racers I've noticed.
