Let The C6r Run Open!
http://www.johnnyoconnell.com/ Check out the part about letting the Corvettes "run open" 900HP! Anyone besides me think it would be kick a$$ to see C6R's win overall!

Too bad they can't run against the GrandAm "prototypes" (sigh) as they could easily win overall against those things without having to change a thing. Both GrandAm and ALMS run at Laguna Seca which offers a great comparison. In 2006 the C6R of Fellows and O'Connell qualified with a 1:21.229 while the GrandAm DP (Porsche/Crawford) of Rockenfeller could only manage a best time of 1:23.712. That's 2.5 seconds slower *per lap* Sheesh.
Btw, a reminder to all racing fans that the Champ Cars will be running "Spring Training" at Laguna Seca Friday and Saturday March 9-10. $5 per day gets you in to see it all including paddock access. Bring your cameras.

The Hoosiers in Grand-Am don't have the grip of the Michelins in ALMS.
I'd rather see a Riley (American race car builder) use a Chevrolet V-8 win overall.

I still don't think the vette would win overall. Some of those prototype cars are very fast. It's not all about horsepower. Let the p1 and p2 cars run open, then you would see some speed!!!
