Help! C5 differential install; nut is needed
I'm in the middle of installing my new differential, and I rounded off one of the nuts pretty bad (don't ask ). It's one of the nuts that holds the differential to the transmission. Anyway, I need to replace it and I was wondering if it was a hardened nut or not?
Thanks
Thanks

I think you can get by with anything, at least temporarily. There are pins that keep the units from rotating, so the bolts just hold them tight together. You might be able to snag one from the clutch cover plate, or some other place that doesn't really need them all. Pretty much all of the drivetrain bolts are the same (engine-bellhousing-torquetube etc.)

Thanks! I had a few of those flanged bolts laying around, but I wasn't sure whether I should use them since they weren't hardened.
The differential is bolted in now! Now I have to re-install the rest of the rear
