what brake pads, C6 Z06 for track
For my C6 Z06. Need recommendations for track/street pads that I can use with stock rotors. I'll be towing to the track (Road Atlanta) so I can go with track pads but I don't want to tear up the rotors either. Also where to buy them.

For serious track use, you might consider using C6 Z51 brakes instead. Some people have had problems with the 'bling' brakes on the C6 Z06 (over-heated pads and lots of pad taper) Carbotech has pads for the C6 Z06, but they are pricey ($350 a set for the front alone). Might be cheaper and easier in the long run to use Z51 brakes.

Do a search for track pads in the C6Z06 section.
Raybestos ST-43 with Motul 600 brake fluid is my recommendation. You can use the Raybestos on the street but they do make a lot of noise when your stopping, makes people look for sure Check your pads before you go on the track. The norm seems to be no less then 1/2 pad for the track.

It depends on what tracks you are going to run and if you are doing autoX or track events (w/20-30 minutes sessions). High speed tracks require track pads such as Tim mentioned: the Carbotech XP12's
I don't think Z51 pads would hold up well on a race track, if your serious, and they would have the dreaded pad taper C5's have.
Hawk is now making track pads, but I don't know if they will perform like the Carbotechs. Hawk's are less expensive than the XP12's
The problem with the Z06 brakes is that the aftermarket pads wear out very quick (high speed tracks...a set per/track day )
you get a little pad taper with the Z06 brakes but it's spread out over the padlets. Not like the C5 where you have pad taper on the larger pad.
There is another pad, in development, that is thicker and should meet the demands of track use much better. Check the C6 Z06 section for more details.
The Raybestos pad is another option. the vendors say they last much better than the XP12's but are much more expensive ($500 ) those had better last more than a track day at Road America.

Carbotechs XP-10/XP11 front & rear will cost you $570 from ZIP. http://www.zip-products.com/Zip/dept...4E91E1E1AF9463
I think a much better deal for equal or better race pads are the Hawk DTC-60/DTC-70 front & rear from Racing Brake at $511.

and unforuntily there is not a 'combo' pad. One set of pads for the street and change to another set of pads for the track.

Hawks are easier on the rotors--5-6 track days($118) Carbo eat rotors a little faster, 3-5 days. They do feel different but squel just about the same.WE are now running Hawks in front and Carbo in rear.
