Default Front upper control arm new bushings. C5.

I replaced my front upper control bushing from VB&P. I used a hacksaw and cut off one end of the bushing. Then I drilled a bunch of holes in the bushing. They came out fairly easy. The new ones just pushed in by hand. This was all done with just a drill, hacksaw, and a little vise to hold everything.

That's a Hawk HP plus brake pad that went a little to far.

Getting the old bushings out is a lot easier than the way you did it.

The RAFTRACER technique (giving credit where credit is due) is to simply put the "ear" of the bushing, the part that the bolts onto the frame, into a vise. sticking straight up. Then just twist the control arm around it and it will simply unwind out of the control arm. It takes only about 3 seconds, and other than a bit of elbow grease is a lot easier to do than anybody can imagine... Cutting and drilling is a lot of work and destroys the part. Doing it using the patented "Danny" method saves the bushings, and if you want to go back to rubber, you can reinstall them later...

Kinda makes you realize how soft these bushings are when you can "Popp" ( ) them out that easily.....

Uppers are a piece of cake compared to the lowers.

The million dollar question is . . . Do they squeak? I've been thinking of doing this mod as well but everyone keeps saying that they will sqeak and drive me crazy, even the graphite impregnated ones from VB&P.
Oh, and people also say the ride will be bone-jarring too.
Thanks,
- Max

Sorry no answer yet. I just did the front uppers. The car is used for racing only and no races yet.

This is on my mid-summer list once I get the drivetrain back in the car.

If they think that is bone jarring they should get a 65 Caddy not a sports car made for handling.
