Default Wheels/Tires for C6: 18x10.5 at all Four

Has anyone tried using 18x10.5 (62mm offset) C5 Z06-size wheels at the front and rear of a C6? I'm looking at the SSR Comp-H wheels (19.8 lbs @ $339/each) in that size with 275/35-18 Kumho MX on the front and 295/35-18 Kumho MX at the rear. The rear-front tire differential is 0.5" (compare to OE tires at 1.2"). Can anyone think of a reason why this combination won't work?

I'm using C5 Z06 rear wheels all the way around on my C6 for the track. I run without AH/TC, but I seem to recollect it not liking this setup with 305/30/18s...

FWIW - I run 285 front and 295 rear on my C5 and it handles well. I also run a little less neg camber up front due to the near-square setup (about 1.5 neg F, 1.2 neg R).

MattW_VA: what is your rear-front tire differential? If the rear tire has a larger diameter, the AH/TC should not complain. However, I don't know what that threshold is.

mk2001c: I don't know if a 285 tire will fit on the front of a C6. It may not matter, however, since I've not been able to find matching tires in a 285 front, 295 rear configuration. In addition, the C6 requires that the rear tires must have a larger diameter than the fronts.

Differential is zippy, I run a square setup.

MattW_VA: I interpret "square" to mean that you are running 305/30-18s on the front and rear: do you have a wide body kit in the front? If not, does the 65mm C5Z offset enable you to run those tires without clearance problems? Thanks!

Silver you dont turn that tight so clearnace is not a problem, even with the brake duct extensions. On the track one never truns lock to lock as there is no need.

the fronts stick out just a 1/4" or so, but OHHH the stick

I also run 18x12" rim with 18x305/30 up front and 18x13 with 18x335/30 in the rear, spacer and fender flairs in the rear.

The square set up is great for stick on high speed corners. Rember to turn the nannies off.

Silverton,

Just wondering. Did you see their price for the 19x10.5 ? Same offset.

That is correct. I'm still trying to figure out where the ride height needs to be, but before the T1 kit I was rubbing ever so slightly in the front, after the T1 kit I had to pick the rear up a bit.
