Default Kumho or Hoosier?

Does anyone know if Kumho stopped making the 710 in 335 size or just a shortage? If they are not available will the Hoosier R6 work for autox or would the A compound work for DEs/TT on road course?
I do AX and road course and the Kumhos work great for both, and I need tires now!

The compounds for the "A" and "R" series Hoosiers are different enough that one tire does not work well in place of the other. The A-compound autocross Hoosiers would not stand up to a track day as they would heat up too fast and the R-compound track version won't heat up enough to be useful for autocross use.

Have you looked at the Kumho webstie to see if a 335 tire is available? You may have to send them an email to ask about specific tire sizes.

You can also talk to Mike Taylor (racerubber@aol.com) at Vilven Tires. We go thru him for our tires and if anyone can get them, he can. (888) 775-8646

From what I understand, The A6s work great at the track (wasn't Lance Knupp using them for the Runoffs), they just won't last as long as the R6s

Yep ...and they are SOFT! I've seen many folks cord a tire in just a 20 lap race.

I am running 315/335 now but 2 others i know say they have not been available. 1 of them went back to Hoosier but I need a dual purpose tire. I hated the switch away from Hoosier to begin with but had to go with what worked..

I'm really hoping Kuhmo didn't discontinue the 335 710s...

RS Racing is selling brand new A3S05 tires for $120 each. This is the Hoosier autocross tire. They have them in 285/18, 305/18 and 335/18. Same sizes in 17" are also available.

https://www.rsracing.com/rscatalog/a...t-discount.asp

Hoosier is offering the same deal with FREE shipping. The link is below but I can only get it to work once in a while. When I click on "Begin SHopping" it works once in a while. Might have to give them a call.

http://www.hoosiertire.com/Disclist.htm

I don't know if RS Racing is offering free shipping.

HELL of a deal if you need AX tires. I need the RS (i.e., road racing) tires or I'd be stocking up on these. Used Toyo scrubs cost $92 shipped.

I have no vested interest, just trying to help those who run AX tires.

John Heinricy won 5 T1 national championships in his Vette shod with GYs. They worked for him...but I couldn't make them work for me. I think I was running the rear pressures too high though.
