Default Weight of original '96 GS wheels

Does anyone remember the weight of the real OEM A-mold wheels for the Grand Sport car? I remember the rears (17x11") being 22 lbs but all of mine have tires mounted so I can't check.

I need another set for scrubs and Tirerack has a set of cast knock offs for $129 each, they're 23 lbs...I think I can live with 1 lb for $350 cheaper.

Oh, and has anyone had a cheap rear wheel fail? That would dissuade me...

TIA

I can't remember the actual weights, but my A-Mold 11's were each 7lbs lighter than my AFS 11's. The 9.5's were about 5lbs, I believe.

Both sets of mine have tires mounted on them. Having said that, 22 is what I remember for the 11" rears and it was either 18 or 20 for the 9.5" fronts.

I had it written down (I weighed each wheel I have at one time)- but cannot seem to find it or the notebook they are in either - but mine checks with Cass's numbers. I can really tell the difference throwing them in the back of the truck with the same tires mounted on them though.

Yeah, I remember the weights to be 18 and 22 lbs for the 9.5 and 11's respectively. Sounds like we all are probably right.

Thanks, guys!

So are the AFS ones really that much heavier? I would assume the ones at Tire Rack (some other no-name brand) would be the same weight. Interesting.

I just checked my notes.

96 OEM GS 17x9.5 20.4 lb each
17x11 22.2 lb. each
