Not sure about the valving as they were put on the car when I had it first done by Mallett. I believe that they were setup for more of an aggressive street use as the front pressure was at 175 and rear at 125 and the rebound was set at 16 open on the front and 12 rear. Where as my adjustables are set much more agressively.

If you post the Mallett product code I can tell which ones you have.

Since part of the conversion was lowering the car I would assume (I know I should never assume anything) that he put on the shocks for a lowered car.
Thanks for your help.

FYI, in Penske speak the valving should be listed as something like:
B-, C+ which means that the bump compression is B- and the rebound is C+ with A being the softest B harder etc. I bought a used set of 8100 DA Penskes and the seals in the cannisters were blown (just de-pressurize them and if oil comes out, it is time for new seals) and when we pulled them apart the valving was different LF to RF (supposedly from Mallet as well). When they are apart, the valving is very easy to figure out just by looking at the shim stack and comparing to the manual. We changed the valving, rebuilt them totally with all new seals, piston rings, etc and put in Royal Purple Synthetic shock oil. That is the nice thing about Penskes, they are easy to rebuild and will last forever.

I talked to Chuck Mallet last week and they actually refer to their adjustable settings as 1,2 and 3 and that these non adjustables are set to 2. Wish I could have gotten an answer here on wheter or not these were for lowered cars or OEM height. I would have bought them. As usual thanks for the info Gary
