Start of Sunday's Thunder Race at Road Atlanta (NASA)..
It was a standing start and this is what it looked like from perspective. I went from 15th on grid to 30th in just an eyeblink.
Oh Golly! Where can I hide?
I post Saturday's and Sunday's full race when I get a chance to get them downloaded.

Dang Jody
That Bimmerand Porsche were just sitting there.
How did that white mustang get turned aroud.
Glad your good to go.
NASA does both, standing and rolling starts. One one day, the other the next.

Is that the "driver's ettiquette" red Camaro from the last event you ran at? If so, looks like that Mustang was introduced to the red plastic horn.
Hope the rest of the race went cleaner!
Have a good one,
Mike

Y'all can't believe how helpless you feel when you're jammed up on someone's bumper and cars are whzzing by you and you know the leaders are sailing off into the sunset.
Man, I don't like those standing starts!
The rest of the race was fine. I passed a bunch of guys who got me on the start. The results haven't been posted yet, but it'll be interesting to see how it all shook out.
Dave Farmer drove a heck of a race in a car that only had 3rd gear. He qualified well as possible, but it's hard to get any speed when you're limited to 3rd. When he gets that car sorted out, he'll be the force in this class.

I didn't realize both the BMW and Porsche stalled out. Actually a good thing you didn't do the rule I always found useful. If someone stalls in front of you go to the grass not to the inside.
The BMW behind you in the mirror almost tagged you from behind also.
That was the same Z28 camaro as CMP yes. Not his fault this time though. The 968 porsche is now taking his title of blocker of the year. That car was 3 cars wide in several spots real bad. He just didn't want a few of us to pass regardless.
Fun weekend overall. As Jody say's , "It's a damn crack addiction".

Jody - I used your clip today at the safety meeting at work. It is not really that much different than the parking lot at the "bomb plant" at quitting time.

It was a nasty start all around. We got a good start on the outside (yes, that is me in the yellow-hooded car). I passed the green 914 Porsche in the grass, they saw yellows at all corners, and back off just a bit. Got passed under yellow by about 3 or 4 cars.
THEN, my trans locked in 3rd gear, and I an the rest of the race in 3rd. Even them, I had to keep backing off as when I rode above 6000rpm, my engine temps were off the charts.
Anyway, new car survived it's virgin weekend. Got a race clutch, trans, headers, and a few other tricks on the way.
