Pictures of new W6A Wilwood Road Race Caliper!
works on 12.19" to 14.25" rotors
Pad thickness is just about the same as stock c5 pad. It is .26" wider than SL6R-ST. Slightly longer also. Bigger pistons are available 1.75/ 1.38/ 1.38 vs the 1.62/ 1.12/ 1.12 in the SL6

stock width rotor 1.25" and pads are .67 vs .65 for stock so not much thicker than stock. Caliper is wider .26" than SL6 wide body. Length is 10.94" vs 9.44 for SL6 so 1.5 inches longer. Looks like a hard fit under 17" or stock wheels of any C5. New Z maybe but you may need a spacer also.

They do not have pricing set in stone yet since they are not released yet. According to my rep they will not work with a stock rotor due to offset. Of course a different mount can be made if you want to work around your rim off set, but they will be offering them as a package for the C5/C6 with their rotors.

Looks like the big win is >13" rotors, and the outboard portion of the caliper body is _thinner_ than the SL6R.
The pads are thinner than the SL6R pads (by 3mm); but the surface area seems much larger (5.87x2.87 = 16.84 vs 4.74x2.43 = 11.51) -- somebody smarter than me will have to decide if the added surface area vs thickness is the right tradeoff or not.

seems bad news is it won't be a 13" stock rotor only a Wilwood rotor. Funny W6A is listed as an SUV/Truck caliper and pad shape is different http://brakepads.wilwood.com/04-race/wilwood.html pad shape # is 6318 with a swept area of 6.40" X 2.74" and .71" thick.
Note they way the drawing is on the pad I first posted the 2.87 is to the upper part of the backing plate not the pad itself.
Calipers seem to be 442 SL6 vs 572 W6A so at least +260 over SL6 kit I have then pads are probably more also. Then you have to buy their rotors & hats also
I think they modded the caliper they use on SUVs & trucks for a race caliper on the Corvette.

Thanks for the update. Not what I am looking for. Being interesting to see the response to the new calipers. Does not appear to be an improvement to current systems they are offering.
I think Wilwood would find a big market for a system that would work with the stock rotors and 17" rims that could hold up to HPDE/road racing demands. Their product lines are very confusing and their website ain't to hot either.

stock rims don't have much clearance then throwing in a caliper with pistons on both sides leaves even less room.

Hi Guys,
We have been so busy selling StopTech brakes, we don't push our Wilwood packages much.
BUt we have every part number that Wilwood has and we are a master WD so we can beat any deal.
Just send me a quote from a dealer and we will match it and give you a bonus in addition.
We have our C5 package now in stock that allows the Wilwood calipers to be used with your stock C5 rotors so you can use the Napa rotors for $25 instead of the high priced rotors.
We will have a stock replacement Wilwood package to use with your C6 stock rotors also.
Call our sales dept and they will fix you up with whatever you need.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti

If I read this right, you're saying the new Willwood road race brakes are redesigned (or configured) TRUCK calipers.
Keep in mind that the StopTech brakes are dedicated Corvette brakes, designed for our cars, and engineered specifically to keep our brake balance. I believe that the Stoptechs for the street or DE events are the same ones that Lou uses for his SGT race car.
