Default CAR of Today!

http://www.speedtv.com/articles/nascar/nextel/36164/

Will be fun to watch the winged wonders running at Bristol. I want to see how the wings stay attached when hit. That car is really ugly!

You took the words right out of my mouth! I'm finally getting used to the DPs, but it took a while. I don;t ever want to get used to the COT.

"Car of Tomorrow"

It sounds like an EPCOT center exhibit.

Well.. In NA$CAR, the car doesn't mean much of anything.

What I can't believe is that they spent seven years developing this POS.

now now...at least it now has a splitter and a wing like all true race cars should.

I'll give you a full report on Monday as I got a chance to get a couple of tickets to the show. It's freak'n amazing how Bristol is completely sold out to season ticket holders every year.

I've been a huge NASCAR fan since 1962, but that is one ugly car. It should not help any in the "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday" catagory.

However

Well at least it is what NASCAR has become; a spec racer series with one stickered car racing with other stickered cars. Just another reason for Ford, Chevy and Dodge to pull their sponsership from a seriers that isn't returning the needed sales.

Shame their car of tomorrow/today is old tech in the road course world.

It looks worse than a street sweeper. Can't wait to hear Tony Stewarts comments! NASCAR di do a lot in the area of safety. How long till they make it in Diecast It will be harder with the wing to make.

If you want to see a bunch of these cars on the track, you can go to the Dover International Speedway on May 14-15 between 9am and 5 pm. Each day there will be 40 Nexpel Cup teams testing the new COT.
Grandstand admission is Free of charge.

Actually, it is the other way around - NASCAR copied all the ricer cars that are already out on the street. I agree - this is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. NASCAR makes the cars more identical all the time - soon it will be nothing but a IROC series.

Starting this weekend, it might as well be

Stock Car now = Spec Car

I'm going to watch this race out of courisity for the CoT and partly because packing 43 cars into bristol is and makes for good TV. Otherwise NASCAR is

If they want me to start racing again, put the stock back in. Production Chassis, production drive train, close to production bodies. Similar to Speed WC rules, something like the CTS-Vs

don`t forget the MANY MANY millions spent either.....the biggest joke in NASCAR is that the fans don`t care about the brand name on the cars, they cheer for their favorite driver....too bad Detroit hasn`t figured that out you.....the next time your out driving anywhere look for NASCAR driver stickers and see if the brand they drive is the same brand as the car (or truck) in front of you.....redvetracr

Ohhhhhhh. Now to finish this off, they should put Maxwell House Coffee cans hanging under the back of the car, with those little turbo -exhuast boost fans

GM, Chrysler, Ford ahve been threating to pull out because the cars look so alike. They are well aware of the problem. They have also reduced the money supply to NASCAR Teams. This may put them over the edge. One may still pull out after this present contract runs out. You will never see stock chassis or bodies due to saftey. They could make look a likes.

How bout these for Cup Options:

1) You can run a RACE car but must run the street tires & wheels that come on the stock model of that car.
2) OR, you can run any street car (showroom stock) with race seat, roll bar, and RACE tires.
