Danica has competition tonight

There is no doubt about her "talent" but I think she may be in over her head with this move! It will be interesting to see how she does, not b/c she is woman, but b/c she has pretty limited open wheel experience.
Brian C, where are you in Boston? I always see you post!!!

How has Milka Duno fared in Grand-Am?
I only noticed her once during 2005 or '06 and she seemed to be
struggling.
I am a booster of women in motorsports but from my limited knowledge
of this driver, my vote is that she is in a different category than
Danica Patrick and Katherine Legge

I've been looking back.
Although I was initially inclined to think that teaming with guys like
Jan Lammers, Andy Wallace, Dario Franchitti, Dan Wheldon and others
was responsible for her successes so far, I am no longer feeling that
way.
IRL will be a change from DP but all the best to her in the new venue.

Why the hell did they do 8 laps of Caution for a car stalling, clear off of the track. What a waste of time. I love all racing, but sitting through that bored me to death and I turned it.
Even after the incident (if you can call it that) cleared, they still did a couple of caution laps so cars could pit.
For those still watching, I hope it gets better.

Actually Venezulan women are addicted to plastic surgery -there have been many articles and documentaries on this, things like having ribs removed to look taller as well as the usual aftermarket chest thing. I happen to live in the city with the highest per capita ratio of plastic surgeons to people in the US, Scottsdale. I would say that Mika has had some work looking at her face, no question. Perhaps that is why the GF in the other thread was thinking radical sex change but I think not... I was passed on the freeway by a local ps the other day with one of those alien construct looking chicks in his Porsche. It is really creepy to see those things with the fake lips and cheeks and chins and all... Kind of like the graphics in early video games or the robot on "Red Dwarf" I knew it was him because of the plate on his Turbo Cab - MKMPRKY which is pretty funny..

She did an interview, with I believe FHM, a couple of years ago. Looked pretty hot. Has masters degrees and apparently pretty darned smart. I saw her race and she did just what someone mentioned. She held her position at best. Her co-driver drove his a** off to get the car back to the front. Then pitted near the end for her to get back in and make the checkered flag. The media made a big rave about her driving. It wasn't her that got that car near the top of the field. She's good, but not good enough to win on her own.

Constant hot button subject with GF. I tell her these women stink and wouldn't be there if it wasn't the lack of women in road racing. SHe said what about the guys who stink? I told her they just get dumped faster or are paying bills or have ties to the sponsorship money. She didn't do squat in DP cars when I watched her.

[bogus spoiler] HA HA I might push John Shiel's buttons too LOL [quote]
Seriously I hope I don't come across as sarcastic or something and because I don't really follow pro racing all that much, would you truly say that the female drivers in the series are worse then the worse male drivers in the same series? I'm not saying I don't believe you that they could indeed be terrible. I get grief for not liking the female drivers that sort of come across as maybe wanting more to be novelty acts instead of just plain old fashioned good drivers. So don't feel bad about the GF giving you a hard time! RANT OVER (for now LOL)
