Default Quick question on tie down.....thanks

I'm going to betrailering my C6 Z06 to VIR this next weekend. I have a new 18ft Econo trailer that has D-rings in the front and back. Steve (ATNB) and others have been very helpful and gave me a link for some t-shaped hooks for my car. Brian brought up a good question.....can you use these hooks on an aluminum frame car?

I believe that is the way they are transported from the factory, so I don't see why it should be a problem.

Absolutely and positively YES. The slots in the frame have been designed to tie the car down in the transporter truck. Use them with confidence. I have been trailering my 06 Z06 for a year now with no problems (and don't expect to encounter any).

Thanks for the reply Frank (and 96CELT4). Also thanks for the help @ the Fall Fling @ VIR. I'm looking forward to this weekend.

it won't hurt them as much as jacking your car there will.....

btw, I like to cross the rears for stability.

I cross the fronts as well, and use fixed length steel cables. They fit under the air dam more easily than a ratchet tie-down and guarantee that the car is in the same place everytime. I got these at Home Depot along with the hooks. The "T" hooks I got at awdirect.com.
