Yes it is. A cotter pin on the under side pulls out and then a shear pin pulls out and the bar is removed. I think that's where the "shadow" comes in the name because it is very hard to see when it's removed.

FYI, this is cross posted in C4 parts for sale and there seems to be a line forming there.

I agree. I had this one on my C4. With the bar removed this is truly "shadow". It worked great. When I sold my C4 I sold the hitch to someone I know. He couldn't find one. I swear I saw a tear in his eye when I sold it to him

Somewhere tucked away on a CD I have install instructions I wrote and pictures of the install. So I can send them to your buyer if it helps you out.
