Thinking about killing our website
And starting a new one! I have been thinking about doing this for the past couple of years. Do you guys think we need it? Would you like a on-line buying? Give me your feedback, both good and bad, I am curious to see what you guys want to see.
1. Old website would be updated and have a media-video
2. New website would have everything that our old one will have, but online buying.
Thanks Guys and Gals

I am happy with, and use the webpage the way it is now, I would use the online buying. If that would save you enough cost in phone time to be worth the webpage costs, then it is good.

On-line buying is always a PLUS. (when I know what I want and I need it now)
Other times I want to speak to a tech or sales rep to answer some question(s). I ABSOLUTELY HATE push button phone menu systems (as in... if I can get the same thing/service some place else I refuse to use them)

Be nice to see the website get freshened and have a more complete list of what you offer in a better organized way. Online buying would be very nice, too, for those times I already know what I'm after.
But then I'd still have to call to chat about ice racing, right? Not much of that now that I live in .ca.us ...

One thing I notice is you can't link to a specific page or product it all comes up Dougrippie.com. When I put that in the browser it never goes to your page on AOL but it pops up in a search.

You guys need to list all of the parts and kits available. Definitely need to have each page/item linkable- as John said. I save stuff in favorites. Online buying is an absolute. I hate telephones. Hate 'em!

I've just upgrade my clubs site, so I've got a little insight.
I like your old site.
Online buying is nice, but always have a person to talk with. Personally I don't buy online, and I'm a computer guy!
Make sure you can share pictures, I like to include a pic when I recommend a vendor's items. Which helps you make sales.
Vids would be nice.
Please, please, don't use flash dial-up people will hate you.
Frames save upload time, but I've been convinced not to use them, since giving a direct link to a page it cumbersome.

To be honest, you current site doesn't have the professional look that I would expect before keying in my credit card information.
That said, I believe simple on line ordering is a must for any web store. Hats off to you for also keeping a live voice available for those who choose to call.
I tried numerous times to build my own site, and just can not do it. I don't have the vision, skills, or know how to build anything that gives that profession and reputable feel I was looking for. For that reason, I recently hired a company called y-designs to build a new site for me. It is still under construction right now as I upload SKUs, but It should be up & running in a couple of months. Here is a non-functional sneak peak:

I am very happy with thier design and the look/feel of the site. Here is their web site if you are interested: http://www.ydesigns.com/
Good luck to you!

Just another thought, but what are the chances of DRM getting a toll-free number? Sometimes, if a customer has to spend time on the phone with tech support or working through a large or complicated order (or if the customer is not completely sure about specifics or packages) with sales staff, a phone bill could become pretty large.
With your store hours only during weekday daytime hours, the only times available to call is during the highest priced rates for long distance calls. Sometimes, using a cell phone is not an option so a land line is what is used and LD charges can be run up fast.
