Default Trailer WINCH recommendations?

looking for something cheap, but not TOO cheap.

Say you've got 20deg ramps, 3000lbs x sin(20)=1026lbs. However, I don't trust companies ratings.

Some good deals on ebay, but again, sometimes they are too good.

I picked up a winch from Harbor Freight. Cost about $100. 9K lbs. capacity, 3000 lbs level pull (3x what you need for a Z), can be mounted on your hitch, or bolt it directly to your trailer. It's a little slow, but pulls just fine. IMHO, unless you are doing professional hauling and putting cars on and off multiple times every day, no reason to spend a fortune on a winch (especially since I can drive the car on most of the time, just have the winch as a backup in case of breakdown).

Hey FasterIsBetter, did you get the one with the roller Fairlead? I just realized the one above doesn't have one.

I have a Superwinch now, but I had total success with a $70-80 Walmart boat winch for years like the one above for my flat bed trailer with my GT1 car and 2000 FRC.

Superwinch gp2300 here, roller fairlead, around $250 from summit. Easily hauls in the race car up the ramps, decent line speed, low amp draw, only 14lbs. Also accepts the nice wireless remote also.

One nice to have add on, synthetic winch rope, no more kinks or wire burns. Lighter too. http://www.okoffroad.com/stuff-winchrope-atv.htm
