Default picked up new trailer

Many thanks to all who helped me pick out the new trailer. Lots of good advice and I rolled it into this beauty. Haulmark makes it and I picked it up at the factory in McAdoo, PA this past week. She's 24' long with 5200lb axles and a 5000# winch. Got a couple of chrome/diamond plate add-ons and an extended tongue. Put on Equal-i-zer sway control hitch/bars and she tows rock solid. The sway controller makes towing a breeze and keeps the trailer from doing the boogie down the highway!!!
I had it on my last trailer and really liked how it worked.
Switching from an aluminum trailer to a metal one was interesting as I think the new metal one tows about the same. I see no real difference.
Here are a couple of pics taken as we (wife and I) were about to pull away from the Haulmark factory in PA for our trip home to Cape Cod, MA

Use to do NHIS with COM and a few other groups. Now I'm just staying with the autox stuff as my wallet can't take a wall hit with this expensive Z.
I'm actually thinking of getting an old Mustang or something like that where I can drive the stink out of it and not worry about a little encounter with one of those walls at NHIS. :>)

I really like the Titan. Had an Avalanche before I got the Titan. The Titan is really one terrific truck and it tows very well. Much better than the Avalanche. I can accelerate up hills with the Titan (and burn up loads of gas!! :>))

Have not done a run with the car loaded yet but the initial seat of the paints is very good. Feels about the same as when I towed empty with the aluminum Cargo Pro enclosed trailer I had before.
Will know more on the 20th when I do my 1st event. Then the following week I tow to Bowling Green, KY. That will be a terrific test.

Did you get an extended ramp door? How easy is it to get the car inside?

Got the extended ramp door but have not put the car in yet so can't tell how that'l work. Also my car is a bit lower with the coilovers installed so that will make it more interesting for sure.
Will post when the rain stops and I have a chance to do a practice load with the winch.

I just picked up one of these, 24' aluminum without the ghetto wheels. I'm using a Curt weight distributing hitch (seems really nice so far, and it includes everything). It will be a load for my 1/2ton Yukon XL, but I'm not travelling cross-country like in the old days.

Guys, let me give you some $100 advice. Make sure the tongue has the proper weight on it. I bought a tongue weight scale from an outfit in California and I never have to guess how much it weighs anymore. It is dead accurate and I know what the tongue actually weighs now. Just moving the car a couple of inches can shift a large amount of weight, and can make the trailer very tail happy and unsafe.

Here's the place I bought the scale:http://www.sherline.com/lm.htm

Love that 1.6 mile course. Only need 1st gear to start then do the rest in 2nd. Even did some runs starting out in 2nd.

Excellent point!
Trailer sales never even mentions tongue weight either.
Thanks!

Assuming you have scales, what should the tongue weight be?

10% of trailer weight not to exceed your maximum tongue weight.
