Has anyone put a 17" Ultrashield/Kirkey in a C5? Worried seat won't fit.

They fit in my buddy's C4 just fine... but driving the Z to work today I'm not so sure they'll fit. I know I'll have to remove the lower seat belt retractor and butcher that trim area.
Anyone put one in this size?

I have seen the Kirkey mounted in a C5 on stock manual seat tracks with no butchery required.

Awesome... that's the seat I have 17" 20degree... looks like you fabed up a custom mounting setup; details?
It'll be great if I can keep the belt/plastics fully intact

I have a Kirkey seat in my Z06. It's 17" wide, and mounted on Hardbar rails. It fits, and I have not changed my stock belt (that is to say, the right side of the seat belt stays on the drivers seat when I remove it, and the racing seat goes in). The thing that I notice is that the seat centerline isn't lined up with the wheel, but displaced right a bit. If I was willing to cut up the seat belt trim, I could bring it in line, but I'm unwilling to do so at this time.

1/4 x 3" aluminum "L" brackets. Stud extenders from the floor similar to hardbar. Mounted seat from the bottom. Took awhile to fab, lots of measuring and re-measuring. Got most of the matarials for free, but lots of work .
What do you plan on doing for seat back mount? Upper part of the seat does flex a little. I fabbed the brackets to the shoulder "wings" on both sides on my harness mount. Works great.
If you have a harness bar you might want to use some of these from Joe's Racing products and bolt them to your shoulder wings. http://www.joesracing.com/catalog/index.php/7/

Cobra,
Did you get the Ultrashield mounted in your car yet? Do you have any pictures of the install? Any advice? I will be installing an Ultrashield next week.
