Replica/Reproduction Minilites???
I was wondering if anyone knew where to obtain repro minilites or if there was a wheelmaker that made them?

PS Engineering in Torrance, CA. They make two piece AL Minilites. Do a google search. They are top notch! They also make two piece Mags.
I just had a set mounted for my race car. They are not cheap though and do take a little longer to get as I think he has a day job. Nice guy though.

I second the recommendation for PS Engineering. Phil made me a few sets of wheels for my replica Cobra. I had two sets of 17 inch wheels and a set of 15's from him. All were top notch, true, and round. You will need to be patient, and also maybe a little bit of prodding to get them, but you will like what you get.

Ooh, good point. Can't believe I didn't think of that since I actually had Panasports on my 240Z.
Check this:

You might want to research further. If I remember correctly (and I'm getting old so who knows), the one piece wheels were only offered up to 8 inches wide, but the three piece C8's could be made to whatever you want. Definitely don't just go by what I said here on widths, as I haven't double checked in quite a while.

Burning Brakes
I had a set of magnesium Minilights on a '70 Vette that I had in '72. One of my uncles built USAC cars, and bought a TransAm Firebird from Roger Penski. It had 8" wide Minilights, but he could use 10" wide wheels. He sold a set of 5 to me for $125. I think that may have been the deal of the century. I needed to contact the importer for the special lug nuts, since the wheels came off a race car. They needed the serial numbers to get the right stuff, and then told me the wheels wouldn't work on the Vette cause the track would be 1/8" narrower.
Wish I still had them.

there were many of us who called Erv, "uncle Erv".....the boys still have pics of the Camaro on the shop wall, and if I am not mistaken Jerry Titus died in that Car at Road America when he crashed and choked on his dentures...I used to kid Erv about that car, it would probably be worth way north of $250K if it was still around today.....

here is another Minilite story for you, the pic/link above is from the Liverpool32 Minilite thread elsewhere on this forum...this is a car built in 1989 for Tony Delorenzo to drive at Waterford Hills making it a contemporary replica (at least thats what the builder called it in order NOT to be sued) and not an Owens-Corning car...BUT that exact set of wheels are the ones Delorenzo put on my car when it was built and shipped to Germany in 1971 (see my avatar)

PS engineering has minilite type wheels American Racing just introduced a Minilite line of wheels. You can also buy from Minilite in England in up to 15X8wide wheels. I have a 14" set of Minilites for a Yenko Stinger Corvair if you know anyone in the market for some, they wont clear Vette brakes.

redvetracr,
It seems that the minilites on the #11 car have a more severe "peak" on the spokes versus later incarnations of the wheels. Are there any known transitions for time period with the production of the wheels or did the magnesium differ by degree from the aluminum wheel?
PS I dig those shirts with the red dash treatment around that car!
This thread has helped a lot, thank you!
