I would give up my vette in .00000000000000000001 nano-seconds for one of these. I wish Ford would step up! Apparently it's running at LeMans this year, not sure what class.

it's not even recognizable as a GT, but that's a good thing.

Hmmm...aside from the aero pieces it looks a lot like the street version to me, which I think is a good thing.

I can't wait for LeMans, so we can see the C6.Rs with some competition again!

Appears to have a very steep angle on the rear diffuser. While it
has a 'tacked-on as an after-thought' look, the approach removes the
need to rearrange the mechanical & exhaust components to accomodate
a diffuser. The proof is in the results.

Thanks for the photos.

I hope it does well, and then comes over here to give the Corvettes someone to race against!

BTW What's up with all the custom GT's after it's gone out of production?

ie) The new RoushGT

I have always liked th GT since it first appeared in Lemans when I was a kid with my HO Aurora track cars they were all GT 40's My friend has one which got a bang up. Fender 2800, door 5,000+, upper weatherstripping for door 1300. No wonder guys at the track go slow with them That was for parts only

The original GT40 Gulf car #6 is here in Scottsdale in a private garage about a mile from my Palazzo.. it is still beautiful and is incredibly small compared to the new one.. I have a Scalextric set and have the same car in 1/32 ..

I think it is odd that a country like Switzerland that banned motor racing 50 years ago has so many neat cars.. I hope they do well at La Sarthe. You will probably not see a Ford factory effort for a while, their stock is in the $8- range now - they are just barely hanging on.... sad really..

I bought a 1/10 scale Exoto GT40 for 700+ now I haven't found a display case for it and it has been in a box for a year. Guess I will get one made sooner or later.

The car runs in the FIA GT3 series. It actually took the pole for the first race at Silverstone, but was a DNF. It finished 16th in the 2nd race.

AFAIK, the car will not run at Le Mans, but will continue to run in the FIA GT series

Thanks for the info... I think it's gorgeous and looks exactly like the street car but w/ a front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear wing.

That's the absolute first thing that crossed my mind too. "Doesn't even look like a Ford GT!"

Again, aside from the standard aero treatment on the front valence, rear diffuser and wing, can someone point out to me how this car looks so different from the street version? In fact, you could make a case that the C5.R looked less like the street C5, IMO.

I should have added that if any of you get out here to Scottsdale and want to see the Gulf car or the 2 real Cobra Daytona coupes of 5 ever or a real S/C 427 Cobra of 16 ever or a whole bunch of other nifty cars that are in that garage, send me a message and I will tell you where it is or if I am not busy at the office , take you there myself.. there are about 25 unbelievable cars in there...

This (to me) is the only angle that it doesn't look like the street version.
Here it GREATLY reminds me of the Lamborghini Murcielago LM.
All the others, especially the rear and side views (again, to me) look JUST like the street going version.

Yet, look at that hood, even here it looks like the street version. O well, it's in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

It can race in the FIA GT3 Championship and other European national championships in the new GT3 class.
