Default Any road races to run at age 16?(FL)

I'm 16 and wanting to run a road course. I don't want to race against anyone yet . Safemotorsports says 21 and up. They only run 3 cars at a time.

They don't call it the "red mist" for nothing, so do yourself a favor and go through a proper program to prepare for road racing before charging out into the unknown. If you can swing it, the best way would be to attend a 3-day racing school, such as Skip Barber's. I believe you can do this at 16, as long as all the documents are taken care of.

In any event, best of luck!

Try Spring Mountain. They have a one day program for young drivers. Then the level 1 is a 3 day program. I wish I didn't wait until I was 40 to go. Best money spent for someone getting their feet wet on HPDE's.

Good luck.

Try our 2 day driving school as some of the young drivers from the Formula BMW series have done to get one on one personal training. We have trained drivers as young as 14 that currently compete in the Skip Barber and Formula BMW Race series in our Corvettes. 2 road course locations available: Savannah and West Palm Beach.

Check at the track you want to run for the clubs that have events if you want to do HPDE. Different clubs have different rules. Some have age 16 and some have age 18, some don't allow passengers while others do.
