Do you agree C6 stock tires worse than on C5?
I was on the track today at Carolina Motorsports Park. Since it's only an hour away I decided to just drive down on what was left of my stock goodyears and kill them on the track. I have been running Goodyear slicks from the C6R race program (leftovers when they switched to Michelin).
Wow, I was disappointed in these tires. Maybe I was expecting too much after I rode on the slicks, but I remember the old Goodyear F1s on my C5 Z as being awesome for street tires. These new ones on the C6 Z didn't seem to get any bite at all and as a result I was fighting the Active Handling the whole day until I decided to turn it off with 2 runs left. I'm glad I don't need to run these on the track anymore or I would have regretted buying another set to replace these for the street. Maybe it's just my driving but after this new set runs out I'm going another direction.

Safety Car
I've never had a C5, but I have to say the F1 Supercars that came on the C6 Z51 have been pretty darn impressive for me, they're not a DOT-R, but they're by far the best street tire I've messed around with at either an autocross or the track. In the past I've run a second generation RX-7 on BFG R1s and Toyo RA-1s, a first gen RX-7 on BFG R1s and Toyo RA1s, and a Civic on BFG R1s and A008RSIIs so it's not like I haven't used R-compounds...
Of course, maybe it's the Corvette that's that much better than the [non-stock] RX-7s and I'll have a wild ride when I finally get DOT-Rs onto the car.
