Default First Day at HPDE (Video)

What an awesome time at Pocono!!

Joe, it was great meeting you in person!

After the first few laps and an instructor who showed me what I was supposed to be doing, (as opposed to what I was actually doing), I started to get the hang of it!

Whatcha think?

(yes.. I know I stink.. give me time please!)

I really enjoy seeing lapping day videos like the ones you've hosted. To the average person, all you hear is wind noise. But, if you crank up the audio a bit more you can hear the tires howling going through the turns. Looks like you were really working the car to nearly the limit. And, the people watching the video can't appreciate the adrenaline rush of what it takes to push a car around the track like that!

FYI to the OP. The Maranello is a 230k car, not 150 unless you find it used...

I can't believe what I saw with that vert... I get all kinds of **** about my roll bar on this forum, and here a guy is without even that.. going pretty fast too.

Nice video though, thanks.

Thanks for the compliment! I was very pleased with how much my driving had improved by the end of the day!

Hi David I’m happy you had a good time. I sounds like you might have caught the bug and this won’t be your last track event. I thought it was great how Eric came up just to help you out, I feel it’s important when starting out to have good instructor.

Your videos were cool, and it’s nice to see how another person’s day went on the track. I hope you were able to get enough track time. I did find that interesting about that worker and his flags, I’ll bring it up at our next Pocono meeting.

Hope to see ya next year, Joe

Look closer his bar is chrome, no car gets out with out one. Watch the beginning of the instructor video to get a better look at it.

Interesting, because for someone who wasnt pushing it, they went off the track twice!

Yeap, you were right!

Not to offend the 1/4 mile vette guys, but after driving the car through a road course, I now know what the real purpose of a vette is!

Default Pocono track event

Dave I was on the track with you in the same class I was driving an electron blue z06. We were battling a little when that c4 blew his motor in the first turn and they black flagged that session. That track was fast what a rush.

Default pocono track event

Dave I think that was the second to last event of the day because we didn't stay for the last session because we had a long ride home. That would be great if you could post that video I would love to see what that looked like. I think I did just get past you when we all came hammering into the first turn and that guy blew his motor.
