Rims and tires for Laguna Seca for C-6
I'm looking to run my C-6 at Laguna Seca and I want to get a extra set of rims and tires for that. Happy with the run flats on the road. What sizes and type of tires work best? I only live 5 miles from track so I'm thinking slicks but I used Pilots on my bike and never pushed past the limits but then again that was on 2 wheels(most of the time).
Thanks for any ideas up front. Nothing is more frustrating than buying the wrong stuff.

www.ccwheel.com ... John will set you up right. I have further to drive to the tracks and I'm too lazy to go buy a trailer to pull my street car so I'm thinking 18x10+18x11 and Toyo RA-1s. You might consider the same if you think you'll hit Thunderhill or Infineon later and don't want to tow.

Let's make it street legals
I noticed it seems there isn't many track days at Seca and I don't want the hassels of trailering to other tracks so let me change my question to street worthy tires and rims.

Also, depends on what you consider street worthy. I know several that
drive to tracks on DOT-Rs. Then there are the 100 wear rating tires
like, I think, the NT01 from Nitto, very good track tire if it comes in your
size. I've got a C5 coupe with C5 Z06 wheels and run Kumho MX's in
275/295 f/r that come in at 220 wear rating. Tire Rack is a good source
for background info.
As for Laguna Seca, most of the dates except for NASA are in the winter
since that is when they get cars on track, lower fees, I think. So, we've
seen most of the LS dates for this year.

Thanks guys!
I'll study up looks like I'll go check out the other tracks. It's just that I live here and have done classes and track days at LS so it's imprinted in my mind. I can close my eyes and ride around it right now if you know what I mean. I just figure the car will be enough to handle but don't know if I can wait. How about track clubs? Is there any more risky (less rules followed) or less risky? I know it's just you and the cars closest to you but I know with motorcycles some are real strick and others let everyone police themselfs.

Ah, now we start to have fun ...
The link below was provided by someone named, I think, Pandora ...
http://www.racerguys.com/
Pick your date and see what's out there. I'm doing Buttonwillow this
Sat. 6/2 and again 6/23. I expect I'll do the Thunderhill date on 7/20.
See bottom of calendar and they link to all the groups listed. In order
of preference I like:
NCRC and Speedventures since they both run the AMB track timing sys.
TrackMasters, Team, & Hooked due to the dates they get at some
tracks. The Thunderhill HPD School is good for those new to tracking.
I've run with Green Flag/NC Shelby (lots of Ford power), Unlimited Laps,
and a Ferrari event at TH once. But, I don't seem to make them more
often. The marque specific clubs are supposed to be pretty good but
just never got into going to them. As noted up top, have some fun ...

I'm still trying to stop spinning out in the streets.

I'm in a similar need.
With that ccw set up, does the active handling still work?
I know that will eat brakes but I'd like it there as I learn this car.

Sure would like to hear from a user who can confirm.
Every time I ask something like this I get a response that I shouldn't use the AH anyway as it will eat the brakes. I'd like to have it operational to learn driving this car on the track.

Unless you know what you are doing and KNOW how to correct immediately...keep the AH on. I rather buy brakes every 3-4 events than pay out of pocket for body work.
