C.A.R.T. Time trials coming up anybody going
Hello All,
I see that the Connecticut Autocross & Rally Team (CART) www.cartct.com has some open track days and time trials coming up on 6/21 at LRP and 7/23 at Pocono south and again on 8/31 at Pocono north. I had a great time with more track time than I could use at their last Pocono event. Anyone else going?
Brian

So far there are about 10 Vette's already signed up for LRP on 6/21. Have you ever run with them at Pocono? They limit entrants to only 50 cars so at Pocono so you get hours of open track time. They even throw in a free t-shirt at all their track events. Great bang for the buck.

I have done about 4 CART events so far. I really found the time trials to be interesting and the general level of driver ability to be higher than that of a normal HPDE, which was refreshing.
Lots of open track time, but don't forget they cut the day short around 3pm to fit in all of the time trials. So don't wait around in the morning to get you track time in...get out there. You may also notice the price is very affordable...this is because they don't have professional flaggers, YOU volunteer (1 hour) of the day to man a flag station. This is a requirment of the event. So between the 1 hour you flag and the 3pm cut-off time you have about 5 hours of track time (they run through lunch). I usually run for 35 minutes then rest for 45, then back out again. You'll run out of gas fast and your car will run warmer than normal as you don't get as much cool down time.
I will be there in August at Pocono (North), I won the overall time trial and came within .10th of second of the club record in 2005, then in 2006 I ran out of gas right before the time trial and didn't have time to make it to the gas station and back. This year I am brining extra gas and hope to win again and beat my record from 2005.
Hope to see you there!

Limrerock was a blast. Meet a few more vette drivers. You were explaning the Team Relay to me and it sound like a hoot. It would be nice to see if a vette team could be created. Spread the word on how it works and happen. NINO
