Default Best Tunnel Plate for a FRC?

Hello,

I'm curious from people who have them.

Which one did you buy?

Are you happy with it?

Was there a noticable difference in car "feel" & interior heat?

Thanks in advance!

On an FRC you'll feel next to nothing from a tunnel plate; the chassis is really stiff as is from the factory.

Can't say anything about the heat aspect of it, but my stock hardtop doesn't have any problems with heat from the tunnel. LT headers may make a difference, though.

If I wanted a thermal barrier I'd seriously consider getting my stock plate coated before I'd put on a heavier aftermarket plate.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

I have one that forum member IVO made about 3 years ago when they were first comming out at outrageous prices. It's 1/4" aluminum and just like the ones you can buy.

Last fall I bougt the stick on thermal barrier from Elite Engineering to reflect the ambient exhaust heat.

Now the console and tunnel area stay far cooler. Comming back from CI-8 it was in the mid 90s and we were in stop/go traffic on 40-E comming through Tennessee. It did get a bit warm, but not like it used to. Under normal driving it stays cool.

help with heat but you won't notice a difference in lap times. Stock is good spent money else where. They are a placebo affect.
