AMB Transponder Mounting in C5 Z06?
Hi:
I'm getting an AMB transponder and was wondering about mounting methods and locations in a C5. I'm thinking of getting a hard wire version and plugging it in on a fuse that is hot with the ignition on.
Any advice or pictures?

That's the way to go to be honest. I bought a rechargeable version years ago and it's lasted very well, but it's a pain to remember to recharge, mount, etc. I have mine mounted on the fan shroud pointed toward the ground.
I think most of the guys who get the hard wired version mount theirs on the frame near the battery area pointing down. As long as the Xponder can "see" the ground, you're good to go. Don't try to get fancy with it...just mount it solidly looking at the ground.

I have a C5 coupe and have been running a rechargable for several years.
No issues when I would zip it to rear licence frame and then tape to
keep it from flapping. But I once tried putting it on the rear CD changer
with the composite floor underneath and it works at 4 of the 5 tracks
I run. At the 5th they resurfaced and it was getting a reading every
other lap, wierd. I just use painters tape on the side of the CD changer
with about 1/4 of the x-ponder below the bottom of the changer. Saves
any worry about it getting lost on track.
