Default What oil and tranny cooler?

Looking at oil coolers and tranny coolers....What are some suggestions?

I have seen prices anywhere from $150 for the B&M to 6-700...

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Also, since we drive our cars on the street as well as on the track, would an all in one unit (radiator/oil cooler) be better or add on stand alones?
TIA!

I like the Mellrose oil cooler www.melroseheaders.com. If you are talking about an auto trans cooler you need to bypass the radiator and make sure it is a plate style cooler not a header style. For a manual trans any plate style cooler will work, the ones we use are made by B&M I think the run about $140

Sorry Adam it is in their catalog but it is in PDF format and you cant read the text when you pull it up. I will send you a PM with some more info. It is a radiator made by Howe with a built in oil cooler. I have had one on my race car for several years and love it.

:o We can get you taken care of. Let me know if you are looking for a race part because we don't sell cheap parts. I know it's more money up front but will save in the long run.

What is a cheap part? I agree 110% I would never use a B&M cooler for engine oil. But the Melrose radiator is far from a cheap part. If you need more than a B&M cooler on a M6 you need some one else to build your tranny.
I am very sorry if I misunderstood your post

Randy, I remember seeing an add on stand alone oil cooler on your website. I can't seem to find it now. Do you have a link to it? I am thinking that a street/track car would be better with an add on rather than an all in one due to the fact that you can bring it back to stock easier when selling it.

Even an in radiator cooler will not gaurantee you can get your oil temps warm enough on the street when driving in cool/cold weather. I had to add a thermostatic bypass valve (B&M No. 70259) to get my oil temp high enough to drive the car in cold weather. Before the bypass valve was installed I couldn't get the oil temp above 140 (35 deg ambient) while driving at 75 in 6th gear no matter how many miles I drove. I could only get it high enough if I drove in 4th.

How is a B&M cooler itself different from the cooler you sell?
