Default What do you get with SS brake lines?

There is a nib set for sale. Just curious if it is worth the time and effort to change and what do you get out of it. My driving confidence in the Z is not quite there yet, but I will be doing 2 days at VIR on the 20/21, so I should start getting better (?). Just cuious if it is worth doing. I will be changing the fluid to ATF 200, and I have the solo bleeders to put on, so it would be a good time to do, if it is of any value. Thoughts?

You get a firmer pedal and more liner braking. I would recommend them for anyone doing 3 or more track days a year.
put them on before installing the new brake fluid and bleeders.

My stock rubber lines would really swell if I held one while someone applied the brake.

I totally disagree, stich with DOT rubber for all but complete race cars. SS can bend, bind, even brake off if not installed correctly and constantly checked

Thank you for advice. I was undecided about SS but having this reply from you helped me out.
How about this theory: brake fluid replaced with one with higher boiling points (like Castrol SRF). Would the higher fluid temperature kill the rubber lines? Or they are already designed to work with higher temps?

Good enough for me. I can spend the money elsewhere.

Thanks.

I got over 10,000 track miles experience with GM OEM rubber hoses. I change them every 3-4 years. I simply see no need for SS.

I have seen SS kink by a hanging caliper. also, Little rocks get caught in the SS braid, and abraid the inside tube.

I heard of 1 case of a GM hose coming apart, but thats not enough to shun me away from OEM hoses.
