Default So Who Is this Danny Popp guy????

All I know of him is that he better know how to do an allignment job on a C-6.

If not,
He's getting a 52 pound slug dropped on his foot.

Also heard that he might be able to drive a Corvette on the track,
Is this true???

Probably his first alignment ask for a discount Heard he goes with a inch tow out in the front! Get a sledge for each foot 104 lb.

I have never heard of him.

I would go to Aamco instead.

I just looked it up in the dictonary

Danny Popp (raft racer) n. a Corvette technician by trade, also known to show up at race tracks and decimate the competition. Also known to set fast laps after a cut brake hose, winning races with a "competitor modified" alignment, and cause all kinds of headaches to drivers of cars 4 to 6 times more expensive than the "blue b!tch". You will find Danny Popp under race cars in the wee hours of the morning. Just watch out if you hear he's in the area, because you will probably hear him coming and have absolutely no chance of stopping him.

Also I heard he is the one person that Chuck Norris is afraid of.

At least that's the word on the street.

Just WHO is this Danny Popp dude, you say???

... to quote another forum member's observations...here are some Raft Racer facts:

** If you say Danny Popp 3 times you will pick up 2 seconds.

** Danny Popp does not need a fire suit, but the fire damn well better wear something to protect itself from Danny Popp.

** There is no correct line, only the way Danny went.

**Someone once tried to market "Danny Popp" the soft drink. If anyone could have gotten past the taste of burnt rubber and hair gel it may have proven to be one hell of a performance enhancer!

**Danny Popp was dubbed Raft Racer when on the Colorado river he found the rapids to be a bore and got out to run along side... ON TOP OF THE WATER!

**Before going to sleep Chuck Norris checks his closet for Danny Popp.

sorry, Dan - these are too good not to repeat

He's NASA racer, so by a certain someones standards he's a absolute nothing. At least that's what I hear from a "real" racer........

Though I did witness his sub 50K street car run near equal times to a 185K "race" car. He probably had a tail wind.

But he can align a car. Even at 7am, after swaping an all night engine with no sleep. So I'd say your C6 is safe.

Danny Popp- a guy that in spite of all the above accolades and multiple National Championships has remained a very sincere and humble human being.
A rarity in todays world and pretty amazing if you really sit back and think about it.

Just my .02.

Bill, your cracking me up.........

This "Danny Popp" guy is the same guy that already fixed the alignment on the car of yours, that someone else screwed up, even when it was a perfect alignment when they got it.....Not to mention the fact that they didn't properly tighten your eccentric fasteners, know nothing about symmetry, and probably caused you to go through the gravel pit that damaged your paint.....

Good thing this "Danny Popp" guy likes you....He's still smashin' toes tomorrow though

The rest of you guys are just making me blush:o

Have a 'lil fun at the race track a couple of times, and all of my peers put me in shoes that may not fit......probably why I have blisters.

Thanks again Danny for all your help.
I think my thought process was good at the time but I have learned a hard lesson.

No one else touches my car from this point on unless it is a RAFT designee

No no, it'll be seen on SpeedVision TV. There will be unbelievable carnage on the racetrack as the RaftRacer warps past World Challenge cars and literally blows them off the track.

It won't be cartoon-like. It won't be fantasy. It'll be reality.

In the end, no one will be able to complain it and censor the proceedings. Fact is fact. Doesn't matter how much money you spend here, normal people are still normal people and treat others the same

the whiners and complainers... the has-beens of yesteryear...

Danny, we never get the credit we deserve. Finding someone who knows alignment and CARES about the results is a big deal, as my customers know!

Sad thing is, Corvette alignment are pretty easy compare to most 4-wheel aligned cars, but I guess they are also easy to do wrong!

Glad the car is ready to go Bill. Make sure you clean all the window glass as I don't want you to miss seeing me as I motor by you on Friday.

Danny Popp = pays attention to details and sweats the small stuff...very difficult to find in today's homogenized world...

What a talent. Met Daniel thru Paul from Pauls Automotive, didnt want a vette @ his garage.Didnt know it at the time,I hit the lottery.Has taught me more stuff I could have learned in a lifetime. Never met anyone so meticulous and concerned about getting it right the 1st time. Worked on my car at 3am 1 day before Nationals. Has treated me like a son and I am old enough to be his dad. I owe my Championship to him (and James Forbis for not racing). Probably too sappy but thats the fact jack
