Default Road tracks in Colorado?

I know there was a thread, but I can't find it. We are starting to make plans for retirement, and the other half is wanting the mountains, AKA Colorado (Denver/Colorado Springs). I want a track close by. I'd prefer a membership type of track so I have more available days (if I can afford such a thing). Links to tracks? Or suggestions? Any other areas out West that we should consider?

Thanks in advance,

John

Peblo has a road course IIRC.

Colorado Springs has Pikes Pike International race way, oval with road course.

My brother lives in Colorado Springs and I go there every so often.

Pueblo is pretty cool, the more I see other tracks the more I like it. There is also an old air field track in La Junta, its a really fast track. Pike Peak has been closed for a while, a group that wants to build an oval closer to Denver bought it and closed it, no one thinks it will reopen. Currently that is all there is, our NASA region makes trips to Miller, Mid America, Hastings and such as well.

However, what you really want to see is this link: http://www.genoamotorsports.com/

Kevin, one of the developers is also the chief instructor for our NASA region. Great guy. Contact him and he will send you the news letter he puts out, they just selected a construction management company

There is one other track being planned, but every time I hear the politics going on in the groups that are trying to do it I think they will never finsh or if they do they will not let anyone else play in their sand box

Check out our NASA region: http://www.nasarockymountain.com/
I'd love to see some more Vettes out at the events.

The Co springs and Black forest area are really nice, but it depends on what you want. The major ski areas are not that close to those places though. The track in Genoa is about 1 hr east of Denver, longer from the Springs...

Salt Lake city is another option, they have miller motorsports, great track but not a whole lot of elevation changes.

My Brother wanted me to move to Co Springs many years ago. If I did it would have been to the Black Forest area. I liked the old cowboy red neck bars that was there. Plus the view of the front range and Pikes Peak is wonderful.

Thanks for the replies.

I stumbled across genoamotorsports and sent them an email. It looks like it will be a great facility when It's built.

As for skiing, last time I went I was chauffeured home in a cast.
I'll just watch the skiing from the chalet with a beer.
