Not sure how this happened... I guess this is the bumpstop. I zip-tied in in place for now as I'm running VIR this weekend.

Before my last track event I noticed the blue dust boot was out of it's slot and had dropped down. At the time I didn't realize that meant the bump stop was out of place. I just slid the blue boot back up and went on.

I'll be getting new shocks or going nuts w/ coil-overs soon as these have 40k on them now.

TTT

Is that rubber piece the bump stop?

Is my rig job ok for now?

I guess I should replace the shocks as they have 40k on them.... no?

Yes that is the bump stop. Yes your quick fix is ok for now! I have a couple extra bump stops around here if you need one.

^ How do you replace it? The metal piece at the top of the shock shaft that the bushings sit on and the dust shield sits on is fixed right?

You have to remove the top nut and pull the top bushings out. Then you will see a small c-clip on the shaft. Remove that(pain in the Azz) then pull out everything on the shaft and replace the bump stop. Sounds like fun right???

^ Oh... so then I don't need to buy new shocks... sweet. I have 40k on these. I run 3-6 HPDEs a year... so these might have 9 or 10 HPDEs on them and the rest street miles.

Think it's time to send them to Bilstien for a re-fresh?

Thanks.... my car is lowered w/ the stock adjustments. It makes sense that the LF would go first as I mostly run VIR which is mostly right hand turns.
