Congrats to AJ and John. John was doing some tire testing here in MI a few weeks ago at one of our track days. He flew by me on the side straight and was nowhere to be seen by turn 1.

Congratulations to all the guys!
Did Chris I. have a problem or anything? I know the field is good, but I'd thought he'd been further up than that.
Be careful out there fellows and go fast!

C6's on the front row, what a surprise! (insert sarcasm here) It is a good thing that SCCA took that 100lbs off the car this year or I do not think it would have been competitive.
Just part of the SCCA Car of the Year program.

Up early I see, Joe.
Scott, one of the C6s is about 75 lbs overweight, so while I am on the "wrong end" of this debate (behind those two, in qualifying at least) I don't think the weight is the issue. Both AJ and Junior are good drivers who also know how to prepare a car.
Now maybe there do are some adjustments needed, but let's wait until after the race to start that debate (as opposed to last year's fiasco).

Here you go Tom.........

It's @ 2:50 pm local time, which we are both 1 hour ahead of
Buckeye and Lynch seem to be the only ones that could ruin the Corvette parade.

No disrespect meant to AJ, seems to be a very good driver but SCCA's decision to remove the weight was a bad one, and who could blame you for taking advantage of it? Last year it was the Viper this year it is the C6.
Congrats to Mike Tracey Jr for qualifying 5th. It is only his third year racing, does his own setup work, does not have a lot of time on that track and runs a C5 that is 100lb's over weight! Great job bud!
Mike McGinley has also been very impressive so far, making the most of his home track advantage.
It should be a great race, a lot of very close cars behind the front row, should be a lot of good, competitive, clean racing and I wish everyone the best of luck!

Race Director
SCCA and GM want the C6 to be up front. They always try and give the current car and advantage, imho. I raced in 00 in a Hardtop, then the 01' came up (ie update heads and cam), then the 02' came out (again, update heads and came), etc etc. As a racer, you always want them to restrict the new guys back down to your level, but in reality, the new cars become the standard very quickly.
This is why I now race with NASA. No rules, just pick a power-to-weight, jump onto a dyno, and race. No confusion, no politics, just good fun racing.
