Default Road race transmission/differential builder? Recommendations please...

Hello All,

I expect that I'll likely be wanting a differential and or tranny built up for endurance road racing. Who would you recommend who has experience with endurance road racing trannies/dif's or at least road race applications?

Thanks!

Steve

What all do you want done to your diff? What all you looking for?

BTW, wheres your build thread ? I think I remember seeing you post a while ago over on tech about a 944 swap.

Contact Rodney at RPM transmissions.

Lots of different combos. Stage V with appropriate ratios. You can select ratios other than standard MN6.

Depending on what you're looking at / for, Rockland has been top notch for years, and can put together a tranny with either straight- or helical- cut gears, and should be able to handle just about any amount of tq you can throw at it.

Rear end, I'd likely stick a Quaife in.

We build trannies and diffs. We build a good low cost solution to the average racer. All of our drivetrains hold up very well under some pretty hard use. If you need something super trick you should be able to find a someone pretty easily.

Hi there,

Well, of course the first order of business in an endurance race car is to have my rear end last the race(s), so reliability is most important. My first goal is to have a transmission&differential/rear-end that will safely last the 25 Hours of Thunderhill Dec. 1-2 this year.

For this year, we are mainly focussing on tuning our chassis/suspension, then want to add power to it for next year's Western Endurance Racing Championship season and the 2008 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Currently the car is a stock engine, and we hope to work with Steve Demirjian and Darton on a 427 block for our power and reliability needs.

Thanks for all the leads guys!! I'll follow up on them and make a decision this week.

Steve

ps - I don't know which build thread, as there have been varied threads on the car, but here's a link so a few photos and some details: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2640341
