Default rack and pump

At WGI my steering rack and pump went. I figure if I have to replace it then I might as well set it up if there is a better solution.

Any suggestions?

thanks

Bob

A lot of the guys I run with and myself use TurnOne pumps. I think they rebuild racks too.

I don't know of any rack upgrades, but there is a company that makes upgraded pumps. Falcon (Jody) has one, maybe he'll chime in with details. And as John says, make sure you are running a cooler. I've personally found the OEM cooler works just fine in all of my cars, from 300hp to 550hp.

They do just die eventually....your mileage may vary.

****edit, yes turn one is what I was thinking of****

Doug has that pump. I will use that with C6 cooler. I guess the rack will be GM.

There's a thread going in the general section about upgrading previous year C6's to the new & improved rack '08 version....might be worth you looking at?

Be intersting to hear if it would fit. Motor Trend did a review and said it vastly improved the feel of the car compared to previous generations.

We happen to have a C5 and a C6 on lifts right now. Lets see what is different.

I will let you know.

EDIT:

Will not work. Mounting points are different from the C5 to the C6. Oh well it was a good thought.

Off to call turn one and see what they offer.

Bob
