Good road racing front tire width?
I have been running 11X25X15 Goodyear road racing slicks on the front and 12X27X15 rears. The problem is at as my power jumped up substantualy and I exceeded my brakes.
So I have upgraded the brakes to a Wilwood Thermlock piston on 13 inch two piece with air ducting and 600 degree fluid.
My past tire combo was very neutral. I could go from understeer to oversteer with just a change of the throttle
I have been looking at some 9.5 inch aluminum front wheels in 17's and 18's. I could not find 10 inch. maybe somebody here knows of a manufacturer?
I'm looking at 275/40 and 295/35.............. What are you guys using?

Melting Slicks
Look at CCW's, they can make you just about any width in 17 and 18. Personally I plan to eventually get 17's with 315's all around or 315 front and 335 rear.

The 315's require a 11 inch wheel and I am not sure at what width are you not getting enough pounds per square inch to make them work right.

The tire rack listing for the A6 tires 275 was 10.3 and the 295 was 10.8 inches of tread width so they are both very close to my existing 11 inch.

I am going to use 315 fronts, but I have flares to fit 11" wheels.

I really like the Goodyear slicks. The only problem with them is the wheels are only for the stock brakes. For @ $200 per tire they are really pretty nice. even when I got into a turn way to fast, the push condition with your foot off the gas would cause the car to scrub off enough speed to rehook up and go.
