Default Can't Wait to Try Out Some of My New Toys at Sebring Tomorrow

Here are some pics of my latest additions. Mov'it big brake kit (rotors 370mm front, 342mm rear) and DRM coilovers. My CCW Corsairs are too wide in the front but they should be ok with the 305/30-18 Hoosier VRL tires for Sebring tomorrow until I can get the rim and tire setup correct. I may just machine down the mounting pads since there is excessive caliper clearance right now. Please no flames about the holes in the rotors, we'll see how this experiment works with the 4mm "cast" holes (notice the quotation marks). The back looks like it's too high, but that's because I just raised it to change my brake pads and it hasn't settled yet.

Wow that looks awesome... don't worry about the wheels sticking out some... I run/ran 17x11 GS wheels all around on my car. The fronts stuck out about 3/4".

The pads in the front calipers look so small compared to Brembo, stoptech, and wilwoods. Interesting I figured that the sweep area on a high end brake kit would exceed some of the lower models. Looks like she is ready for the track though. Let us know how it does. Have fun!!!

watch your fenders don't cut into the tires if they stick out. Looks great.

The pads have a swept area of 76 cm².... ~ Brembo, stoptech have 63 cm²

The part of the pad you see is what sticks out below the caliper. None of the others stick out below. The pad covered by the caliper is much wider than what you see.

Humm. Thats cool. How are you likeing the setup?

I think I was looking at the rear setup shot when I made that post. I see exactly what you are talking about now.

There was a cut in a rear outer CV boot (probably from shock install), and grease all over my back brake and wheel put a damper on my day. Controlled it with some duct tape and zip ties. The car pulled violently to the right all day and I really didn't have too much fun running 7-8/10 all day. I was averaging 2:39 laps and had plenty of time to practice my lines. That's 10 seconds slower than my best time before the coilovers. The car's back at Orbit Racing being realigned and getting a new CV boot. This time I'll let them test it out at Moroso before I take the car back.

Was the car pulling because the CV was binding? Or was the alignment way off? A CV that runs without greese for too long will fail shortly. make sure they look at the CV real close and replace if needed.
