Stuck in NJ for the week, what to do
Hi all, I'm out of my state of VA and stuck in NJ for the week, till Friday night for work. What to do and where to eat?
I'm exit 10 off the NJ Turnpike in a town called Fords NJ 08836
Drop me a PM if you want to hook up some night and talk Vettes and racing or leave me some posts on what to do, eat and see.
Thanks, Larry

There is a great Italian restaurant not far from where you are in Edison, NJ. It's called Lou Cas. Located on Rt. 27. Take the Garden State Parkway to the Rt. 27 Exit (Just past MetroPark), go west on Rt. 27 about 2 miles, Lou Cas is on the left in a shopping center, set back from the road. Excellent food, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. And it's a BYOB.
There are some great Spanish restaurants in the Ironbound section of Newark, but only venture down there with someone who knows where they are going. My favorite place is Iberia Penninsula on Ferry St. They have a barbequed meat dish called "Rodizio", which is basically all you can eat meats (lamb, pork, beef, filet mignon, chicken, sausage, etc.). They bring them on skewers to the table and carve them for you right onto your plate. They keep bringing food until you tell them to stop. Excellent paella and fish dishes as well. You just don't want to get lost wandering around Newark trying to find these places.
Hope that helps.

You are like 15-20 minutes from NYC...I live in Jersey, but forget about Jersey. Take a train or drive across the Holland Tunnel into Manhattan. Go to Little Italy on Mulberry St or a slew of amazing resturants in mid-town. You have everything from side bars, to 5 star blow your mind, best in the world resturants. If you are that close to NYC, don't hesitate for a moment to spend an evening in town. I would say catch a show, but they are on strike at the moment.

I'm back in good ol' Va Returned late Friday night. I have to give a big Thank you to geerookie for the invite to a home cooked dinner and parkerracing for the invite to see the race car at his place, that was very nice to both of you
As it turned out my training with this company was crazy, Thurdsay's event didn't end until 2:00AM I worked late every night, I'm just sorry I didn't get to meet up with you guys, maybe next time
If you get down to my area in VA give me a shout
