Default [SCCA Runoffs] who builds point towards Nat'ls: driver or car?

While watching the T1 race on Speed yesterday they mentioned the Butterworth (or was it Buttersmith?) C6, and how the father was driving and then they decided to put the son behind the wheel.

That made me think: does the driver or the car earn points towards the Runoffs?

The driver does! John ran in T2 (The Caddy) mostly and then decided to run his dads T1 vette and qualify it too for the Run-Offs.

John Buttermore is the name. The father raced the T1 C6 for the first part of the year, at The Glen John M (not Jr) jumped in the car to earn enough points for T1.

Both work at General Motors. The son used to have John Heinricy as his boss, but I understand he has be transferred to another department.

Good kid, as well.

Dave I have to ask and no disrespect intended ... what the hell happened in that braking zone when you contacted the C5?

Forgive me if this has been discussed in other threads, I avoided reading them so as to not know the race results before it was aired.

No disrespect taken, I was asking the same thing myself!

The car's ABs went out (evidenced by the tire smoke before we touched). I think if the ABS was functioning we would have touched by the contact would not have been significant and we both would have continued on our merry way.

I had dinner with Al Longtin last night (he's the driver of the C5); I bought him a steak dinner and treated him to Handel's ice cream (it's a local delicassy) to try and make up for my actions.
