My first set of Napa Rotors from China...not impressed
Doing my "Pre-Flight" for a track weekend coming up....found a heat crack big enough to get my fingernail in so made a call to my local Napa guy.
$30 each
Note the cooling vanes......NO LEFT OR RIGHT HAND
Only markings I could find on the rotors.
I know we've about this before..........but this sucks! I'm probably going to be needing some fronts after the next weekend.....O-and get this..... now a new right front cost about 5 bucks more then the left one .... Go Figure!

4886702 & 488703 .... both Rotors are the Same with straight Cooling Vanes.
Just put them on ... car is still on jacks. I'm running PFC 01's

I'm done with napa after the crap they pulled with me. Their service is crap, and I refuse to be suckered into paying 40 for a rotor that was 20something a couple months ago.

I'm using the new ATE rotors from Tire Rack. So far they seem pretty nice and they have the correct vanes along with a zinc coated (or something) center. Under $50 delivered to your door.

I'll bet that those "offshore" rotors are (or will be shortly) sold by a bunch of different auto parts stores. Whatever company in China that is casting them probably did not submit bids to buyers that specified left and right side cooling vanes much less get specific engineering/design specs for left and right rotors from the buyers.
And I would bet that the buyers don't care if they sell left and right rotors simply because they would have to stock different parts resulting in lower profits.
They can cast one rotor style for both sides and don't have to figure out their left hand from their right

It's interesting as my NAPA made in china rotors have the vanes going in the correct direction are painted and still have the old part numbers. There is one difference on the box I can tell from yours. My box says Ultra Premium while the box you show just says Premium. Maybe there are lower priced versions available from NAPA now. Here are pictures of the 86700 and 86702 rotors I just took out of their boxes.
86700:
86702:
By the way, nowhere on my boxes does it say made in China. However, the NAPA guy confirmed they were definitely made in China.
The reason they look so dark is they are painted black in the center and on the edges so the fins are also black. Even looking at them in the garage they were as dark as the pictures came out.

Please forward this thread link on to someone who will respond to this post. Lots of people, including myself, are a very upset with the down-grading of your parts and still charging the same or more money. It would be nice to hear Napa’s side.

I got the same ones as Bill too and just ran the snot out of them at The Sebring SCCA race and they still look good!
There is a left and right on my rotors and vanes are correct and same parts #s as Bills.

The new made in China rotors I have been getting also have correct vanes......I haven't had a significant problem with the new rotors...yet. Hell I even made them glow cherry red @ Mid-ohio ,visible during intense sunlight and still ran another day on them..
I wander who the brainiac @ NAPA was that thought these rotors needed to be painted. Then charge extra money for them. I guarantee that the majority of the NAPA Corvette rotors that are sold are for track use only.....Paint doesn't even last a bedding session. My NAPA sales person cannot believe how many rotors are bought by my customers. I showed the person the picture of my car @ Mid-Ohio with the glowing rotor and then he understood.....

Looking at rock auto's site they are showing a 12" and a 12.8" rotor selection for the front. What size are the stock C5 rotors? I don't know why they would show two different sizes.
