Looks like all of the threads that were posted in the Gen sections are gone too. Did he get upset and leave? Some of the posts seemed to bash him but there did seem to be some interest.

I had asked if they were going to be available for my 87.

since 99 I have seen a bunch of to good to be true promises. He was questioned or even grilled but most post were looking for answers before we dump our money to their pockets. The other brake vendor seems to have not been heard from lately or I may just be missing them R_?

For what its worth, you guys really steered me in the right direction about rotors for my C6.

I went with the Centirc brand. They are the one peice blanks that Stop Tech uses. (Centric owns Stoptech)

The rotors are very well made and the finish is perfect. Dealer cost they are about 35.00 each, you will find them for about 50.00 each. More than the NAPA, but nice stuff.

Part numbers for future reference:

120.62059
120.62060
120.62061
120.62062

BTW, these are the numbers for the C5, true left and right. Dont use the C6 part numbers as you will just get all lefts.

It was unfortunate a new vendor jumped in a topic that there have been a dozen very informative threads on in the past month or so. Drilled rotors were pretty heavily and negatively discussed and claims of higher cost quality over tested relatively inexpensive rotors is met with skepticism. A good suggestion for a new vendors might be to take the time review past threads on like products to understand their potential market. If a vendor looks at what the common problems are and come up with a good solution it will sell.

Check with your local tuner, if he has an account with Stop Tech, he will be able to get them for you as well, maybe less.

YES and NO. Cryo rotors are a scam and do not work. The whole Cryo business is a touchy subject. Cryo works very well on very thin metals, that are not exposed to prolonged high heat. But does not work on thick metals, greater then 3-4 mm or exposed to temps above several hundred degrees.

What were some of the first lessons in those Engineering Material Science classes about thermal properties of Iron ?

Sorry I missed all the fun. I never even entered the Cryo thread because I could have cared less about Cryo rotors. None of my money was ever going to go there....

Default another one bites the dust

I wish the fella didn't just pack up and go home. Even if his rotors didn't last 3 times as long, at 50.00 each, for drilled and slotted, seemed fair enough to me. I would have probably given them a shot.
As accomplished and experienced as some of the forum members are on here, I would hope they realize there is a fine line between being knowledgeale and being rude. R. Ford

I think the final straw was him taughting HP plus pads for the track.
That was a total display of ZERO brake knowledge.

He was a hawk dealer too, and knew nothing of race pads. pretty sad.
