Default Where to buy Hawk pads

Not too long ago, there was a thread mentioning a vendor that offered 10% discount to Forum members buying Hawk brake pads. I have not been able to find it.

Does anybody recall who the vendor was?

TIA,
Frank Gonzalez

Ecklers has a 10% discount if you are a corvette club member like C5 Registry (or others, but I don't think they check whatever number you tell them ). I get my Hawk HT 10's there for a good price. Haven't bought in a while so not sure if they raised prices or not.

There is a guy who races in NASA OH/IN region who gives a discount on HAWK brakes. I bought 4 sets last year. his E Mail is jason@Andrew-Racing.com
If you are going on the track try the "70" compound. They are like throwing an anchor around the nearest tree.

Thanks for the info. With a hot C6Z to slow down I wouldn't even consider anything but the Hawk DTC70 pads.

I tried the DTC70's with the new NAPA rotors on my C5Z. They ate those rotors like they were free cheeseburgers. I'm going back to Carbotech.

they do eat rotors but did you like the pads and their capability of stopping?

I run the same ones on my SCCA T1 car and love them. I do know though, at the end of each weekend the rotors are boat ankers.

Just my .02 worth.

do they chew up rotors when up to temp??
I know the blues ate rotors when cold, but when at temp, they got better.

Using dtc 70s on a C6 z w/dba 4000 front rotors and Michelin Cups. They've been working well and haven't torn up my rotors(got 8 track days w/ 3 hrs seat time each day, from stock z rotors). I'm not super experienced like some of the road racers here. I run NASA group 3 and am in the top 1/3. I run a 2:38 at Sebring so I'm not blazin' but not a newby either

Frank,
Call Paul at Van Steel for the best prices.
