Yep, I'll be there.

Wallyman, will you have the A/C turned around backwards in Casa de Wally in Feb?

casa de wally originally debuted with little fanfare at synergy of 06. The space heater did not work. I froze.

I'm gonna rent floorspace from someone with a room.

Can you post a link?

Do they typically run events at VIR this early in the year? It would seem that the weather may be challenging.

i'm gonna be running (hopefully instructing) at the thscc TT/HPDE. 2 weeks prior to the NASA event. Last year was BEAUTIFUL. THSCC also has a snow policy, so if it snows you get your money back.

Try: http://www.nasaracing.net/index.html This is their first event for the year that I'm aware of.
Yes the weather could be something to deal with. I was there Nov. 19 with TrackDaze HPDE and it was cool and wet for some of the sessions.

I was there towards the middle of Feb this year and two sunny days with highs around 50.
Probably as good as you can get.

I would imagine Feb is a crap shoot on the weather.

May be taking my chances on this though.
Anytime at VIR is worth the trip from Cincy.

I was a corner worker at this event a couple years ago - it was miserable. Rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain. All I can remember is this new 350Z go right into the bridge.
From what I heard from some instructor friends last year the weather was good.
I probably will not be there, won't have the car back together by then.

Who is coming to Road Atlanta in March???

i should be at the thscc event also...they put on great events!

weather at vir in feb is tough to predict...i've been to events with beautiful/balmy weather and events with cold rain (like the 3hr enduro last year) and/or snow (one of the days in 06)

Yep, I remember the THSCC event in Feb (06, I think) when the cold icy rain/snow came and they cancelled the event 1/2 through. What a miserable, miserable day.

Maybe this be helpful:

Group 1: "Novice" drivers are those who have driven at zero or very few track days and have never been "signed off" by an instructor for solo track driving. Signing up for Group 1 requires an instructor. Passing other cars in Group 1 is only allowed on straights and only after the driver of the lead car signals that it's safe to pass.

Group 2: "Intermediate" drivers are those who have driven at some track days on at least one track and have been "signed off" by an instructor on at least one track. Signing up for Group 2 requires an instructor. Passing other cars in Group 2 is only allowed on straights after the driver of the lead car signals.

Group 3: "Advanced" drivers are those who have participated at 10 track days on more than one track and have been "signed off" by an instructor for each track driven. Group 3 drivers can request instructors at additional cost. Passing other cars in Group 3 is only allowed after the driver of the lead car signals but may be done anywhere on the track.

Group 4: "Instructors" are those who have participated and completed Instructor Certification clinics we hold at various events each year. Passing other cars in Group 4 is only allowed after the driver of the lead car signals but may be done anywhere on the track.

I'll be there, running in 4 I suppose, since they are not running TT. Good chance to shake the car down and Heck Anytime I can race in Feb without going southwest or Florida, I'm all about it.

Jeff, you make it difficult to chase you around if you keep changing your plans..

I'm signed up. Hope the weather's not too cold and I can get some little gremlins shaken out by then....

I guess I really need to deconflict my schedules better before I initially commit.

I hope to do better with their April Fools event there...
