Check out:

http://www.scca-chicago.com/

Chicago Region has several very good and very accomplished autocrossers with Corvettes.

You'll have to click on some links to find a NCCC chapter in the area and link to an appropriate website.

There's also a Tri State Sports Car Council, but I don't know particulars.

When you're on the NCCC site be sure to check the Michigan and Indiana regions too as well as the Midwest region. They do a fair amount of events every year.

Another option for Track autoX is Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs. See www.MCSCC.Org

There are several clubs in the Chicago area that are run open classes and are much less strict/serious SCCA. I happen to auto-x with the Volkswagon club at Maywood Park and usually about 40% of the cars are not VW's. There is also a Miata & BMW club as well that are open to other cars and probably several more that I don't know about too.

If you don't mind the drive the Milwaukee SCCA puts on some great events. They hold there events at Miller Park, so it should be pretty easy to find. One of there instructors Jeff Cashmore runs a C4, I know he won nationals in 06, not sure how he did this year.

Salt Creek Sports Car Club does Solo II ax events at Maywood, Tire Rack and maybe a few other locationss. They are also part of Midwestern Council which runs timetrials events at Blackhawk, AutoBahn, and sometimes at GingerMan, Milwaukee Mile and Grattan. Nice friendly group. I have been a member for 20 years now.

Default MVP looks awesome!

Hey guys, just was looking at how to get involved in road racing and found your thread. MVP looks great. Can anyone comment on how hard it is to pick up on heel-toe shifting? I know how to do it in my mind, but I have never done it in my car. :o
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Went to the link, the nearest NCCC club to me is San Antonio and Houston, which is a five and a half hour drive either way.

That sucks, because the cost of running with the Porsche Club is $85 for a one day event.
