Default Sparco Evo mounting

Went out and bought a Evo2 Plus last night and sparco mounts for it. Now I'm trying to figure out how to mount the seat. I'm waiting on sliders, but i dont think the sliders will be long enough to reach the OE seat studs.

so how did you all mount your evos? I know the hardbar mounts work, and i keep seeing them over and over, but I'd rather not do that route just yet.

You have to buy the side mounts that attach to the side of the seat. The slider. Then the base mount for a C5 Corvette. 3 separate items. Then you will have a challenge using the stock seat belts.

Ross, I have the new Evo2 Plus seats installed in my C5. Go to Piper Motorsports in Sterling, VA and have Mitch and his team fabricate a custom seat mount based on the exact seat angle and setup you need. They do excellent work and are reasonably priced! Mike

I just spent 3 hours trying to get a sparco seat into my bmw . When the time comes to get seats for the vette, I'm staying as far away from the sparco seat mounts as I can.

Hardbar and Pfadt both offer nice setups and there are plenty people here using either of them.

Hardbar does not allow sliders, which I'd like to use.

I might have to go with the pdaft unit, although its really expensive.

Mike, i might call up piper, but i need the car done in 30 days

Call Mitch Piper tomorrow and tell him I referred you and see if he can leverage the Evo 2 Plus seat mount he built for me - I believe he keeps schematics, etc. from prior fabrication projects. Most of the cars in his shop are race cars, so I *think* he would make ever effort to get your car done by your deadline. The seat mount works perfect, looked great but was not adjustable, which is why they take several measurements while you're in the seat in the car to get it right.

You have to pay to play.

I do believe that the Pfadt slider works with the Hardbar unit. Gary would know for sure but I am pretty sure I read that somewhere.

I couldn't get the Sparco Plus to fit in my car. It seemed like it was too wide.

I'm going nuts with this. I just ordered a speedware bracket and they swear up and down that the seat will bolt right to it. we'll see though....

next time I'm bolting the seat to the damn floor and calling it even.

Default sparco

I mounted Sparco Evo seats with the Pfadt bases, side mounts and sliders(although the sliders are a stock sparco unit). My only challenge was on the passenger side due to an electrical connection that sticks out from the floor near the tunnel. I had to slot the front and rear base to floor hole to gain enough room. Other than that, it was pretty slick, I could put everything together on the bench and then pop it in the vette.

I have the Sparco EVO with hardbar mounts. It just fits in the drivers side. I had to take off the moulding that covers the seat belt retractor for clearance. My EVO seat is attached on the inside of the hardbar mounts. I believe you need to mount the EVO2 or Plus on the outside of the mounts and that is what makes the install difficult. Some have removed the entire seat belt retractor to make it fit. Not sure why Jody's didn't fit. I'm a skinny 6 footer so I just fit in the EVO!

Good luck.

I had my EVO L (same as EVO 2) mounted in my Z06 with Hardbar mounts. I did have to remove the factory seatbelts because the retractor at the base (by the bottom of the door) would just barely not allow me to get the seat in right. I'm sure if I wanted to get out the Dremel and spend a few minutes shaving a bit here and a bit there, I could have gotten it to fit.
I still have my Hardbar seat mounts and don't have the Vette anymore, so I'd consider selling them if you want 'em. They are powdercoated black.

Hey Phil, Jody, and Charlotte, NC area buddies! I don't stop by here much since getting the P-car, but hope to see you guys at the track sometime soon this season!

I just located a set of hard bar mounts So I'm good for the moment.

Since the car is a T1 car i dont have to worry about any of that seatbelt stuff.

What P-car did you get? I came from the p-car world and frequent rennlist.
