Default MGW Short Throw Shifter

Has anyone used one of these shifters - MGW Short Throw?

They are supposed to be pretty trick. Site doesn't say much...I'll contact tomorrow.

I have a Hurst and I've been looking for one with a shorter throw and smoother mechanism.

Do a search in the TECH section. I recall a couple of positive threads about this shifter recently.

I just sold the Hurst out of mine. I will be picking up an MGW here in a few weeks.

Great shifter - I have driven one. I should be getting one of his shifters optimized for autoX and track use in few weeks.

I am trying to decide between the two shifters. I had one in my cobra and loved it. When I asked them which was closer to the cobra shifter they said the 35% version. I guess I will go this way. Which version did you drive?

I had it in my C5 Z06. Way superior feel than the stock unit. The C6 Z06 stock shifter is much better than that in the C5 Z06, so I'm not sure it's a worthwhile mod. I haven't seen a pix of it for the C6 yet. Their website is very low tech.

Little bit longer throw I believe.

A buddy here local has the first MGW C6 shifter in his car and he loves it. I rate it better than stock. MGW makes cool stuff....

Roadrace/Autocross is 25% shorter.

Drag Race is 35% - don't need the leverage when bangin' through the gears.

Had to think about that for a minute - but the roadrace is a little longer than the dragrace.

When I get mine from George installed in the FRC I will let folks know my impression...

After much delay I should be installing a MGW shifter today - will give it a workout at Roebling, Road Atlanta, Barber, VIR and CMP over the next 6 weeks or so.....

Nice shifter and exceptionally well made. With just a little bit of street shifting all I can say is "wow" - lots nicer to shift then the stock C5 ZO6 shifter I had in the FRC.

I had a MGW shifter in my '03 Must/Cobra and really like it. It was the choice of most Must owners. I am sure it will become one of the favorite of vette owners.

Installed mine this past weekend and first impression on the street is great. Solid shifts with minimal movement! I will give it a full test at VIR for five days this next week.

I installed mine with the new race **** (more like a longer cylinder than a ball). I almost thought something was wrong the movement was so small. It's a night and day difference in feel! It does take a little work to get used to. Muscle memory wise I'm still trying to use the old shifter.
