Default Snowed Out in Atlanta

Well not yet but the threat of it this Saturday was enough for PCA to cancel it's event this weekend at Road Atlanta. I'm disappointed that it was cancelled and that I don't have any real fix for my track withdrawal (it's been 3 months after all... ). Did 16 events last year even taking time off for a blown engine...

But on the other hand, I wasn't very interested in trying to learn how to ice race like some of you northern boys. I'm glad that they took safety into consideration and did it for the good of all. Here was the email I received:

Hi Guys and Girls

I just wanted to notified as many of you as possible because I know that some of you are traveling a long distance. The local weather forecast is calling for 2" to 6" of snow between 2:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Saturday. Road Atlanta has agreed that based on the weather forecast, it is best to cancel the event for safety reasons. Please check your email next week and we will update you on how we will be issuing the refunds for the event, as the likelihood of getting a second date is not good based on there schedule and ours.

So I can either wait for VIR in late February or try the new CMP in 3 weeks. Heck, I guess I'll do them both..

I guess you just learn to adapt. After living in CA and now GA, I don't think I could do that on a daily basis...

Z06Cool,
If you change your mind on Ice racing, you can get Randy to instruct you since I hear he is the king on ice.

I'm in .ca.us now, but damn I miss ice racing. It was "chilly" out last weekend and I could have put on my old ice race gear to work on the Corvette... thought about sweats under my jeans. :-)

Do I need to get some of these first?

Or will I have to wear one of these? If so, it's going to make me look chunkier than I already am....

Don't know if I can keep up with your schedule this year but like last year, it was fun to try...

See you soon.

I'm registered for Seat Time at Roebling Feb 22nd. You should try to make it. I could use the instruction.

I'm like the prince of ice. The guys kicking my azz have been doing it longer then I have been alive. These old timers can flat out drive. Racing the same car for 20 plus years helps too

Randy
PS I am winning the horsepower battle
